Clinical Director William Taylor and Veterinary Surgeons Elizabeth McLennan and Naomi Dally offer a warm welcome for you and your pet!
This is our main site and has been established here since being opened by Mr Robert Kay in 1965. Prior to this, Springfield was situated on Wharncliffe St and Percy St. Although the hospital has been modernised since its first opening, it retains is original layout of well proportioned wards and large internal runs for inpatients, as well as a newly refurbished prep room, and dedicated operating theatre, secondary theatre, dental suite, in-house laboratory and imaging suite. We have accommodation for up to 44 patients as well as a separate isolation ward.
We have 2 consulting rooms and a spacious comfortable waiting room, with divided areas for dogs and cats/small animals. Also in our waiting area is a well stocked Hill's™ Life stage Diet™ Food stand, offering a variety of food for dogs and cats of all sizes, ages and circumstances. We also sell Burgess™ food for your small animals, stocking food for rabbits, guinea pigs etc, and with our daily deliveries we can also get food for more exotic pets and ensure you food is fresh and high quality.
For those of you with pets on a special diet, either weight loss, joint support or various medical conditions, we are able to supply the entire range of Hill's™ Prescription Diets™. If you would like any advice regarding your pet's diet, please telephone for a free consultation with our dedicated Nutritional Advisor, Jenny Barber.
We are delighted to now be able to offer minimally invasive (Keyhole) surgery. More information here.

Our Commitment
We are committed to ensuring the highest standards possible for your pets and this is why we applied for, and were granted hospital status by the RCVS.
We also believe in the importance of continuity for our patients and clients and for this reason we have a dedicated veterinary surgeon that is responsible for all our inpatients, as well as dedicated nurses, providing 24hr nursing care, 7 days a week, 52 weeks a year. All our wards are centrally heated, and air conditioning keeps our patients cool in the summer months.
